The North Face – Novelty Compact Jacket Posted: 21 Mar 2012 06:00 AM PDT The Compact Jacket series from The North Face is a packable outerwear, perfect for traveling or to keep with you when the weather is temperamental. Biggest benefit is its ability to pack away into a small sack for portability. Furthermore, adding to its weatherproofing, the jacket is also constructed to stop static to develop within the jacket to prevent surprising shocks from occurring. These jackets also come printed in four different patterns – camouflage, gingham check, green dot, and barkley stripe – to fit . Japanese select shop Kinetics is stocking these jackets in their retail store and on their online store right now. Kinetics

WHIZ LIMITED – Fall/Winter 2012-13 Collection | Preview Posted: 21 Mar 2012 05:00 AM PDT The runway show from WHIZ LIMITED marks their return to the Tokyo Fashion Week, giving us a sneak peek of the Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection. For next season’s collection, the Tokyo based label titled the collection LOST, referring to various things which had gone unnoticed or forgotten over time by the designer, Hiroaki Shitano. Another source of influence came from 80′s surf culture and hippies, thus explaining the use of sand on the runway and barefoot models. Earthy tones are fused with primary colors, creating a physically and visually warm garments. Inspect the thirty looks compiled for the show after the jump. © Freshness Mag, 2012. | Permalink | No comment | Visit us on Facebook |
MISSIONWORKSHOP – Arkiv System Bags | Video Posted: 21 Mar 2012 04:00 AM PDT The Arkiv system is a specially designed, patent pending closure system developed by MISSIONWORKSHOP. Although this system has already appeared in small range of products before, they have announced that Spring 2012 collection will have its own Arkiv Modular Bag System line. This is exciting news as the bag industry is slightly stale at the moment, with no new innovation happening for some time. The MISSIONWORKSHOP crew shot a teaser video whilst setting up their pop-up shop in Berlin, which should give us the taste of what’s to come from the new line. Hit after the jump to watch the video in its entirety.

INSA – Self Reflection is greater than Self Projection Installation | London Posted: 21 Mar 2012 02:00 AM PDT INSA will be showcasing his latest installation at the LONDONEWCASTLE Project Space next week. The new work is entitled Self Reflection is greater than Self Projection and it is a departure from his usual paintings and sculpture pieces. A large scale abstract installation was built inside a room, wrapping around the four walls measuring 4 meters by 10 meters each. Digitally printed wall coverings create an optical illusion, and amongst the chaotic design are two of INSA‘s iconic women who dwell within. Beneath the superficial surface, the work pushes to question our image and the money obsessed culture we are part of. Unfortunately, this installation can only be seen for one day, so do drop by the gallery if you are in the neighborhood. LONDONEWCASTLE Project Space Event Date: March 29th, 2012 (Thursday) | 7pm – 10pm

Prometheus – Official Trailer 2 | Video Posted: 20 Mar 2012 10:00 PM PDT Sci-fi fans — and movie fans in general — are still buzzing over whether Prometheus is in fact a prequel to the 1979 classic Alien. Director Ridley Scott and writer Damon Lindelof (erstwhile Lost co-showrunner) have both deflected the discussion, stating that while the film operates in the world of the Alien film, it’s not a part of the original narrative. Close viewers of the latest trailer — clocking in at two and half minutes — have pointed out evidence that the filmmakers aren’t being entirely truthful. There are indications that Facehuggers are present, and the actual alien seems to make an appearance during the frantic second half of the trailer. What we do know for certain is that the main characters arrive on a distant planet thinking they had been invited (via identical pictograms in ancient civilizations), and what they find is much more than they had bargained for. Prometheus, starring Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Noomi Rapace, opens June 8th, 2012. Check out the trailer following the click.

EXTRA BUTTER x Reebok Pump OXT “SHERIFF” | Release Info Posted: 20 Mar 2012 09:00 PM PDT The last day of 2011 saw Long Island’s Extra Butter drop the “AHCHOO!” edition of the Reebok Pump AXT, saluting Dave Chappelle’s Oscar-worthy performance in the Mel Brooks opus Robin Hood: Men in Tights. It turns out that particular release only told one half of the story. In the thrilling conclusion, Extra Butter introduces the Extra Butter x Reebok Pump OXT “SHERIFF’,” with a nod to film’s denouement in which Dave Chappelle’s Ahchoo character is appointed sheriff of Rottingham. The kicks themselves feature a variety of materials in a woodsy colorway: there’s tumbled leather, suede and faux fur, plus custom Extra Butter hangtag and signature orange pump. Look for them to drop this Friday in-store at the stroke of midnight (so technically Saturday), with an online release scheduled later that morning at 11 am. Check out more looks following the click, as well as a special teaser video. EXTRA BUTTER Release Date: March 23rd, 2012 (Friday) | Midnight

Nike Air Max Sweep Thru “Galaxy” – Amar’e Stoudemire All-Star Game P.E. Posted: 20 Mar 2012 08:43 PM PDT It was quite odd when you looked over at the Eastern Conference’s roster during All-Star Game that the familiar face of Amar'e Stoudemire was not among them. With injuries and the death of his brother still on his mind, it is quite easy to understand why six time NBA All-Star missed the cut this year. And though these are major set backs, they are also temporary, a reason why Nike went ahead and designed Stoudemire’s own “All-Star Game Galaxy” edition for his Nike Air Max Sweep Thru. First made its debut on Knicks‘ win against the Pacers earlier this week, Stoudemire will most likely be wearing the special P.E. for the duration of the season. So take a closer look next time you’re in Madison Square Garden.
