2013 SRT Viper – The Return of the Snake | Video Posted: 10 Apr 2012 03:00 AM PDT “…and it achieves the essence of the Viper proportions that always been there and were essential to the looks of the Viper…” – Graham Henckel, Chief Engineer SRT Viper It wasn’t simply another product launch, the unveiling of the 2013 SRT Viper at the New York International Auto Show was an impassioned result from an exercise in perseverance. Just two years ago, the Viper program was in wane, just like Chrysler and the city of Detroit itself. In a free fall supported only by a feel of agnosticism that America would one day regain its footing, a few believers pressed on. Thankfully they did as the new Viper is a testament to their resolve. The snake is back…

BMW 3 Series – “Three of a Kind” | Video Posted: 10 Apr 2012 02:00 AM PDT One normally doesn’t associate comedy with the Bavarian Motor Works brand, but a short film entitled “Three of a Kind” aims to inject some laughter while showcasing the BMW 3 Series, originally launched in 1975. The story revolves around a classic love triangle, with free-spirited Derek and slick business operator Gordon both attempting to woo the lovely Keri. The three characters embody three generations of the BMW 3 Series: Derek in his flower-print shirt and bell-bottomed jeans representing the first generation; Gordon with his slicked back hair and brick-sized mobile phone evoking the second generation of the 1980s; and Keri in her 1990s bright yellow M3 from the third generation of BMW 3 models. Check out the video below to see who Keri drives off with in the end.

TURNTABLE RIDER – DJ Turntableism On A Bike | By COGOO Posted: 10 Apr 2012 01:00 AM PDT Almost two years ago to the date after Tokyo break beat duo HIFANA eschewed their turntables for Nike Free Run+ sneakers as beat makers, TURNTABLE RIDER is pushing the concept further. Produced by engineers at COGOO, a Japanese bike sharing system managed by Relations Inc., TURNTABLE RIDER essentially realigned DJ essentials onto a converted BMX bike – the wheels become jog wheels, brakes are now sound pad, and the gyroscopic motion sensor doubles as the fader pad. Lastly, the music samples are wirelessly feed into the system via Apple iPhone or iPod. As videos of early test runs show below, simple bike rides are now musical performances with rider’s full involvement. All packaged in a Pelican hard case, the TURNTABLE RIDER will debut at KAIKOO POPWAVE FESTIVAL 2012 later this month through live performance by Japanese BMX rider Kotaro and DJ Baku.

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 11:00 PM PDT We’ve seen plenty of interesting art projects centered around the theme of sneaker design over the past few years, the latest of which comes courtesy of Poland-based graphic artist Pawel Nolbert. His ongoing Sneakercube series combines a love of sneakers with graphic design. In the words of Pawel himself, “Simply, I take a sneaker that I love and I re-envision it as a cube.” It’s a simple conceit with novel results. The individual sneakers — and accompanying cubes — comprise lifestyle kicks from the worlds of sport and high fashion: the Vans Mid Skool 77 CA, Christian Louboutin Studded “Louis,” Common Projects S/S10 Achilles, Neil Barrett A/W10 Quilted Tweed Sneaker, Rick Owens Anthem Contrasting Lace-Up Sneaker, Trussardi 1911 F/W09 Camo Sneaker, New Balance 1500 and Raf Simons Yellow Astronaut. Check ‘em all out in the gallery below.
