Stone Island Shadow Project – Component Blazer Posted: 11 Apr 2012 05:00 AM PDT The Component Blazer is an innovative solution from Stone Island Shadow Project, fusing formal and casual attire into one. Its outer vest is made from NYCO-R fabric, a custom made 2-ply material that is weatherproofed. While on the inside, the jacket is constructed from JERSEY-R fabric, a 3-ply composite shell which is superior in wind and water resistance. When worn together, the pieces work harmoniously, creating a formal aesthetic. However, when the outer vest is removed, a casual look is achieved instantly. Head over to HAVEN to pick up this jacket or inquire at your nearest Stone Island Shadow Project dealers. HAVEN Flagship HAVEN Select

UNIQLO Expands To West Coast With Future Flagship Store In San Fransico Posted: 10 Apr 2012 07:30 PM PDT Countless speculations on where UNIQLO will open its next North American flagship store came to rest this morning when Yasunobu Kyogoku, UNIQLO USA‘s Chief Operating Officer, indicated future plans for 111 Powell Street in San Francisco. Situated near the historical Union Square, the 29,000-square-foot retail space will be the popular brand’s first storefront out in the West Coast. While there were talks of UNIQLO opening a store in Los Angeles first, Kyogoku stated the high-tech economy in and near the Bay Area as the leading factor in the San Francisco location. Additional resources will be in place, UNIQLO will also move several members from its operational team in New York to the San Francisco area, all to ensure a smooth transition into the new place of business. But this is merely a stepping stone. To fully realize a $10 billion goal in sales by the year 2020, Kyogoku mentioned an national expansion in the near future, with hundreds of smaller stores in areas such as Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut tri-state region. In the meantime, UNIQLO San Francisco is set to open later this year. via: WWD UNIQLO San Francisco (Future Store)

Posted: 10 Apr 2012 07:00 PM PDT Canon is set to release a specialized version of its popular EOS 60D D-SLR optimized for astrophotographers. The EOS 60Da uses the same 18-megapixel APS-C image sensor found in 60D, a substantial improvement over Canon’s last astrocamera, the 8.2-megapixel EOS 20Da. The Image sensor has been fine-tuned for extra sensitivity to hydrogen-alpha wavelengths and uses a modified infrared sensor, making it possible to capture images of red hydrogen nebulae and other diffuse celestial objects. Other enhancements to the 60D include an improved version of its 3-inch Clear View LCD with more than 1 million dots of resolution and a flip-out Vari-angle screen. The camera is capable of ISO speeds of up to 6400 in standard shooting mode, with a 12800 option for shots that require very short shutter speeds. The EOS 60Da retails for $1,499 without a lens and will be available for purchase later this month.
