This video takes us behind the scenes into the metal workshop, where each part is manufactured meticulously and precisely. Monochromatic visual adds timelessness to the video and the whole process. This documentary should certainly be appreciated by designers and creatives alike, who not only care about the end product but the beauty of manufacturing. A vintage-look black watch is safely concealed inside a black leather case which is attached to a wrist band of same color. | Levi’s Commuter London Launch Event Recap | Video Posted: 19 Apr 2012 04:00 AM PDT We saw Levi’s Commuter launching in various cities around the world and it was London’s turn to finally get their hands on the cycling inspired collection. For the launch event, Levi’s got together with Rudy Melo and David Hall from London based fixed gear crew The 5th Floor to shoot some promotional footage leading up to the release party. The actual launch of the collection took place at Look Mum No Hands, where the line was on display and available for purchase. Surprisingly Hodgy Beats from Odd Future is seen here modelling the navy version, giving his approval of the military inspired jacket. Melton Wool 700 material is used for the black version but the other two colorways are made in the classic nylon material. | Nike Implements Twitter RSVP System For Sneaker Releases – To Start With Air Jordan XII “Playoffs” Posted: 18 Apr 2012 08:51 PM PDT The line-up, camp-out, carnival-like atmosphere as well as the occasional riot and stampede will all be a thing of the past very soon. Perhaps to stemmed the ongoing negative press over its practices for exclusive edition launches, Nike is setting the stage for a new Twitter RSVP system for sneaker releases. A high tech solution to eliminate all the unfavorable experiences relating to the line-up, the new process also ensures an amount of fairness among all sneakerheads. To start, simply follow the Twitter feed of your nearest Nike Store or NikeTown retail point. Prior to a major release, Nike will inform potential buyer of a designated date for RSVP. On the said date, stores will begin tweeting time for the RSVP process to begin. Once the RSVP starts, potential buyers much Direct Message the store within 60 minutes and include: 1> Product Specific #Tag Sent Out By The Store RSVP confirmation will be in the form of Direct Message from the store to you. Similar to an actual line-up, all sizes will be available via a “first respond, first serve” basis. Customers with confirmed RSVP must present identification and pick up their product in person on the day of the launch. With the introduction of the Twitter RSVP system, Nike will also ban all midnight in-store releases, in turn, eliminating all line-up and camp-out. While the new procedure only accounts for Nike retail locations and not third-party outfit such as Foot Locker, it is the label’s way to ensure fairness and the safety of its consumers. The new Twitter RSVP system will start tomorrow, April 19th, as Nike gets ready to launch the Air Jordan XII Retro “Playoffs” on April 21st. | Nibwaakaawin x PENDLETON x VANS – “2012 All Nations Skate Jam” Pack Posted: 18 Apr 2012 07:30 PM PDT In support of this year’s All Nations Skate Jam, an annual celebration of Native American culture and its contemporary youth movement, its organizer, Nibwaakaawin, along with lead skate sponsor VANS, created a special footwear collection for the event. A fifth installment of its kind, the collection comprises of the VANS Classic Slip-On, VANS Old Skool, and last but not least, VANS SK8-Hi. Each style comes purple or red patterns and highlights another Native American institution, the PENDLETON Chief Joseph Pattern Blanket. Suggested retail price starts at $65 for Classic Slip-On, $70 for Old Skool, and $75 for SK8-Hi. There will also be a pair of Old Skool V in youth sizes for $50. All to be available on April 28th and 29th at the 2012 All Nations Skate Jam in Albuquerque, New Mexico. | Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupe Posted: 18 Apr 2012 06:00 PM PDT In a bid to gain back grounds it lost to BMW and Audi, Mercedes-Benz will be introducing a new concept at next week Auto China 2012 in Beijing, the Concept Style Coupe. Also known as CSC, its Mercedes’ answer to the Audi A3 and A4 as well as BMW’s 1-Series and the industry mainstay, the BMW 3-Series. Based on Mercedes’ new MFA platform, the CSC is a merger of the F800 Style Concept and Concept A. Little is known about the concept at this time except it will share the same 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder as the A-Class, capable of churning out 208-horsepower. Headlined by the one and only Eric Koston, the new team consists of Sean Malto, the 2011 Street League Champion, and Baker pro Theotis Beasley. Completing the roster is Steve Berra, an industry giant who co-created The Berrics with Koston. Just like the fashion lifestyle program headed by supermodel Kate Upton, the Skullcandy Skate Team will help to develop special products, along with provision of support and exclusive media content catering to the skating community.
