Fred Perry x Dr. Martens x BEAMS – Capsule Collection Posted: 01 May 2012 06:00 AM PDT Perhaps the tide is starting to change on the all encompassing Americana trend, as Japanese fashion giant BEAMS is seen here partnering up with two iconic British brands, Fred Perry and Dr. Martens, for a capsule collection. Though still classic in nature, both brands have remained to be ahead of the pack by staying relevant to today’s consumers. Influenced by the original British skinhead movement, this collection is predominantly monochromatic and only feature a dash of navy and burgundy, alongside black and white tones. Signature Fred Perry styles can be seen across the range of polo shirts, hats, and wrist band, while Dr. Martens will keep your feet looking sharp with their redesign of the Quilt Wing-Tip Shoes. These items are currently available for pre-order at the BEAMS online shop and delivery is slated for end of May. HUMAN MADE – Season 4 Collection | Preview Posted: 01 May 2012 05:00 AM PDT NIGO previewed some images of the new products from the HUMAN MADE Season 4 collection on his blog recently. This next collection looks to have few collaborations as usual, involving brands such as EFFECTOR, Post Overalls, Mühlbauer, and Fire-King. In particular, the latter company is a traditional glass ware company in Japan, established in 1976, and they are responsible for producing the popular vintage mugs. Another interesting item for this season is the steel cap shoes, taking over a year to make and they feature the unique aesthetic of exposed steel cap on its toe section. Expect these pieces to hit HUMAN MADE dealers soon or otherwise check back on COLD COFFEE online store. T-World – New York Edition Launch Party Posted: 01 May 2012 04:00 AM PDT Run by a group of t-shirt connoisseurs, T-World is a magazine from Australia which talks only on the subject of t-shirts. A special New York edition of T-World was compiled recently, including photo essays by Nicole Reed and Eddie Zammit. Reed Space will be holding a launch party for this special publication this Thursday, and there will be a book signing by Tony Arcabascio, Claw Money, Jeff Staple, and Kid Zoom on the night as well. Live screen printing session will also be conducted by BKNY x Brooklyn Tourist, using artwork from Grand Scheme, Jeff Staple, Morning Breath, and T-World. VANS Syndicate Presents: Twenty Photo Exhibition | New York Posted: 01 May 2012 03:00 AM PDT VANS have produced countless classic sneakers during their time and the Half Cab model would definitely be one of the favorites for many skateboarders. It’s been twenty years since the mid cut sneaker debuted and VANS Syndicate is celebrating the occasion by hosting a photo exhibition. Entitled simply as Twenty, the show is curated by Lance Dawes and it features photographs by an impressive line up of all-star skateboard photographers. Greats such as Gabe Morford, Dave Swift, Bryce Kanights, Jai Tanju, Mike O’Meally, Rhino, Luke Ogden, Anthony Acosta, Ben Colen, Atiba Jefferson, and Dawes have all contributed to the skateboard movement with their amazing talents. PORTER x J.W. Anderson – Backpack Collection – Spring/Summer 2012 Posted: 01 May 2012 02:00 AM PDT London based fashion label J.W. Anderson launched a series of Fashion Show Backpacks, made by PORTER, couple of months ago, and we are seeing the pair return with more goodies from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Although this installment only sees the return of one Straw Backpack, accompanied by two nylon backpacks sans straw materials. All three bags are constructed exclusively for J.W. Anderson and uses heavy duty nylon on through out. Comfort is provided by the ergonomic shoulder straps and mesh padding, and functionality is not overlooked as plenty of zipped pockets and compartments are equipped on the bag. Air Jordan IV Retro – “Fire Red” Posted: 01 May 2012 12:00 AM PDT Credited as the one which popularized the definition of a “sneakerhead” in the 1989 Spike Lee film Do the Right Thing, the Air Jordan IV returns on a grand scale this summer with the Fire Red edition. Although the edition saw a re-release back in 2006, most folks just didn’t get the chance to buy them. Now, that opportunity is upon us once again. No exact launch date at this moment except it is on schedule for release in August 2012. Certainly, more official information about this pop-culture icon to come in the near future. The Dark Knight Rises – Official Trailer 3 | Video Posted: 30 Apr 2012 11:30 PM PDT The first trailer stoked our imaginations, while the second left us wanting more. The third official trailer for arguably the most anticipated film of the year hit the Web today, and it should raise fans' expectations for The Dark Knight Rises to peak levels. The clip gives us a taste of what’s to come from the hands of Tom Hardy's villainous Bane — including the destruction of city bridges, as well as a football field during a game in progress — plus a good look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, replete with cat ears, and Joseph Gordon Levitt as a Gotham City beat cop. The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale in the titular role, is the final chapter of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It hits theaters on July 20th. Hurley – “Name That Surf Spot” Contest Posted: 30 Apr 2012 11:05 PM PDT Attention surfer dudes and babes. Hurley is hosting a surfing-related contest on its Facebook page, though with an interesting twist. Contest participants have to correctly identify 8 top surf spots around the world, but not through the typical means of photos or videos. Instead, Hurley created miniature models of waves, that’s right, waves, from each renowned regions. The only you have to do is to answer them in the right order. Once you have the answers, submit them via Facebook. The winner will get two all access VIP passes to this U.S. Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach this summer. Enter now and good luck to all. Frank Kozik x Nike SB Dunk High Premium Posted: 30 Apr 2012 08:59 PM PDT During these last few days of April 2012, Nike SB decided to drop its quickstrike of the month, the Nike SB Dunk High Premium by the one and only Frank Kozik. With same counterculture/militarism theme founds on Kozik’s works during the heydays of grunge music, when the graphic artist created distinctive album cover arts for Pearl Jam, Green Day, Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth, and etc.. the limited edition Nike SB Dunk High Premium referenced many aspects of MA-1 jacket and other military apparel, especially with its army olive drab, leather and heavy nylon twill upper. A plush nylon liner, in emergency orange, lined the sneaker’s interior. Finally, rather than a scripted signature, Kozik’s name is stenciled right by the right heel tab. The special edition is now available only as an in-store purchase at select Nike SB retail locations like CONCEPTS of Boston and PREMIER at Grand Rapids.
