COMME des GARÇONS x Adam Kimmel x Dover Street Market Ginza – Dark Surfer T-Shirt Posted: 02 May 2012 06:00 AM PDT Rei Kawakubo opened the doors of Dover Street Market Ginza in late March and the excitement is far from over. The stage is now set for the collaboration projects to slowly launch as a way to keep the fans and shoppers to come back into the shopping complex. COMME des GARÇONS and Adam Kimmel announces the latest collaboration product to drop at Dover Street Market Ginza, and it is this Dark Surfer t-shirt. The dynamic artwork is printed on the front and back, converting the white body into the lip of a humungous wave. A single streak pierces through to the bottom of the t-shirt, depicting a brave, lone surfer speeding down near the hem. Nike – The Super Natural Ride Exhibition | Tokyo Posted: 02 May 2012 05:00 AM PDT Nike debuted the Free technology in 2004 and since then, it has impacted on the way footwear can not only support the feet, but to strengthen the feet at the same time. Nike Japan has creating an interactive exhibition titled The Super Natural Ride in the O-Yane Plaza at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo. This exhibition works with talented graphic designers, illustrators, and other creative studios in Japan to visualize the Nike Free concept. The two key elements of this exhibition are the Lightness Experience and Flexibility Experience, designed to showcase the unique attributes of the sneakers. Not only will the visitors see the artwork, the interactive experience should stimulate the mind and body. These Folding Umbrellas will help to shield you from showers when you least expect it. Bicycle Store – Levi’s Commuter Collection Launch Party Recap | Video Posted: 02 May 2012 03:00 AM PDT Levi’s is taking the urban cycling scene around the world by a storm, with many major cities hosting the launch of the Levi’s Commuter collection. Bicycle Store, a leading bicycle boutique in Paris, held a launch party recently in their store and the keen crowd gathered to check out the colllection. On display at the launch was the wide range of apparel line from Levi’s, juxtaposed against the variety of bicycles and parts in the modern shop. Fixed Gear London x Dickies – 874 Riding Pants Posted: 02 May 2012 02:30 AM PDT Just last month, we posted a video preview of the Fixed Gear London x Dickies 874 Riding Pants and finally Fixed Gear London founder Andy Ellis has let the cat out of the bag, well kind of. We are still unable to see the full pants but these photos lets us in on how the specially designed hem would work in favor of cyclists. A common problem for cyclists wearing pants is their hem is likely to be caught in between the chain ring and chain, sometimes causing scuff marks and rips in your pants. These Fixed Gear London x Dickies 874 Riding Pants address these issues in a subtle way without compromising it classic silhouette. Epperson Mountaineering – Large Climb Pack – Kelly Green & Clay Ruby Posted: 02 May 2012 02:00 AM PDT Just last month, we previewed a couple of Large Climb Packs from Epperson Mountaineering. Here are two more models from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection in Kelly Green/Mandarin and Clay/Ruby color schemes. Abundance of colors make these backpacks great for lugging around in the outdoors or the concrete jungle, and it is constructed from durable Cordura nylon material on the exterior. Carabiner clips in the center offer functionality and visual accent, surrounded with two zipped pockets on each side. A Bathing Ape x FABRICK x Karimoku – BAPE Camo Furniture Collection Posted: 02 May 2012 12:30 AM PDT We recently saw FABRICK and Karimoku collaborate with Andy Warhol on a Camouflage Seats and in a similar form, A Bathing Ape have launched several furniture featuring their original BAPE Camo patterns. This collection includes single seater, 2 seater and 3 seater, with a choice of green, blue, and pink camo pattern for its cushions. On top of that, they have come up with a BAPE Camo Folding Table and Square Shelf to complement the seats. Both of those furniture is also available in the three camouflage patterns and will be available from Saturday, April 28th at BAPE GALLERY in Kyoto and rest of the BAPE STORES will receive orders from Thursday, May 3rd. Featuring a dial ringed by KAWS’ signature chompers, not to mention the hands forming the artist’s signature “X,” the watch has a 44mm dial, solid titanium case and Caliber ETA 2892 movement. UNIQLO UNDERCOVER x Disney – T-Shirt Collection Posted: 01 May 2012 10:00 PM PDT Under the “UU” rubric, UNDERCOVER and UNIQLO have created a series of Disney-themed t-shirts that celebrate the classic animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with three of the seven t-shirt designs dedicated to the evil queen, her castle and the Bashful dwarf character. The remaining t-shirt styles bear the likeness of that most iconic of Disney characters, Mickey Mouse. Each tee is available in white or black colorways, with additional colors available for women and kids. Ricky Powell’s World Famous Slideshow – Melbourne | Event Recap Posted: 01 May 2012 09:30 PM PDT Between his sometime incoherent yet amusing comments, the acclaimed photographer Ricky Powell presented a slideshow of his most memorable images to those gathered for this year’s CARBON 2012 by ACCLAIM Magazine at Melbourne, Australia. In a pair of PUMA by his own design, The Rickster commenced the presentation with his own jazz funk mix tape as the background. Throughout, Powell recalled each photo with bemusing side comments, even comical inaccuracies. Yet, the still shots spoke to the audience themselves. There were Keith Haring and Basquiat, legends who passed on too soon. Laurence Fishburne and Sofia Coppola, both with that glints of future greatness in their poses. Early images of Beastie Boys, Run D.M.C., Will Smith & Jazzy Jeff, and LL Cool J, kings of the rap sub-culture then, hip-hop empire now. Then there were the girls, the ubiquitous features to all of Powell’s works, past and present.
