Nike Air Trainer 1 – “Safari” | Preview Posted: 03 May 2012 12:00 AM PDT It seems like Nike is revisiting one of its most iconic design in a big way this year. On the heel of the updated Air Safari VNTG comes the Nike Air Trainer 1, also in safari print. Though it isn’t just any safari print but “the original pattern” from the 1987 Air Safari. Through and through a Nike Air Trainer down to its forefoot strap and even a placard about its historical importance. But your eyes will most likely be fixate to the wild pattern instead. Finally, the fulfillment of wishful design on many sneakerheads’ minds, the Nike Air Trainer 1 “Safari” now available at select retailers in Asia and soon to be on these as a “quickstrike” release. via: Limited Edt.

BLINK/STEADY – Fine Crafted Aluminum Bike Lights | By Benjamin Cohen Posted: 02 May 2012 11:00 PM PDT The main appeal of the Blink/Steady bike light is its simplicity. Machined from solid aluminum, the light is secured to your bike’s seatpost and turns on automatically when it’s dark and shuts off when you’re not riding (thanks to a built-in light sensor and accelerometer). The device features a simple low-profile design that’s secured with a soft-tip set screw. You can choose between two modes — blinking or steady light — simply by flipping it over. No buttons or moving parts, meaning you can set it and forget it. The Blink/Steady design team, made up of Benjamin Cohen, Stuart Heys and Mark Sibenac, has already achieved its funding goal on Kickstarter. A $95 pledge will get you your own Blink/Stead bike light, with a delivery scheduled for July.

Air Jordan XI Low – White/Varsity Red – Black | Release Info Posted: 02 May 2012 10:00 PM PDT Jordan Brand has seen fit to grace us with an Air Jordan XI Low featuring patent leather for the first time in over a decade. This White/Varsity Red-Black colorway, which is a nice approximation of classic Chicago Bulls “home” colors, can be laced on your feet in just a matter of days, as the kicks have an official release scheduled for this Saturday. While the low-cut silhouette is an untraditional look for the signature mesh nylon and patent leather construction of the vaunted XI style, they’re still XIs. Loyalists will likely find a way to get their hands on the kicks, notwithstanding Jordan Brand’s loaded release schedule for May (i.e., these Black/Safety Orange IVs the following week and Cool Grey XIs the week after). Style: 528895-101 Release Date: May 5th, 2012 (Saturday)

BME X-9 Nighthawk Bicycle | Inspired By Stealth Fighter Posted: 02 May 2012 08:59 PM PDT Brano Meres, or better known as BME, is no stranger to bicycles made of exotic materials. After making a foray into sustainable side of spectrum with his bamboo composite frame, the trained Mechanical Engineer made the bee line for the other end of the material spectrum in his latest design, the X-9 Nighthawk. Similar to its namesake stealth fighter, the F-117 Nighthawk, the X-9 is a series of angular forms. Meres started with aramid honeycomb core first, each shaped with a water-jet and laminated in carbon fiber. In following the stealth theme, Meres created the prototype BME S72 Saddle to pair off and quipped the bike with Gates belt drive plus the Atomic22 Infiniti3D Guard Dogs security wheel skewer. Though it looked to be a conceptual model, the singlespeed bike is quite real and made its debut in March at Berlin Fahrradschau 2012.

ODIN Fragrances & Home Fragrances – Pop-Up Shop | By Snarkitecture Posted: 02 May 2012 08:30 PM PDT Odin is showcasing its unisex fragrance line and candles with a pop-up shop on 330 East 11th in the East Village. Designed by Snarkitecture, the narrow 350-square foot space is set up to “shun the typical interpretation of the popular retail concept,” in the words of Odin co-owner Paul Birardi. The result is an interior painted all white and filled with replica Odin bottles in white gypsum cement, suspended from the ceiling and emerging from the floor atop clear rods. The visual presentation is striking (if not reminiscent of Superman’s Fortress of Solitude), displaying a stark contrast between the white environment and the black of the actual fragrances and candles. The store opened on May 1st and will stick around for the next six weeks, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. ODIN Fragrances & Home Fragrances – Pop-Up Shop
