Iron Man Mark VII Costume – With The Avengers Specs | By Master Le Cosplay Posted: 11 May 2012 09:00 PM PDT Consider yourself a big fan of Iron Man? Meet Anthony Le. Fitness fanatics will recognize him as a testimonial case on P90X infomercials, but for our purposes it’s Le’s alter ego that merits a closer look. Namely, he’s Iron Man. More specifically, his cosplay suit is an uber-realistic Iron Man costume. The homemade suit pictured is above an amazingly faithful copy of the Iron Man mark 7 suit, which Le created in anticipation of the Avengers film release. It features a number of working details, from a fully motorized helmet to functional lighting effects to CO2 jet streams. Check out the videos below, the first two of which document the building process, and a short final video of the full suit in action. via: The Awesomer

Merce Death – “Still in the Air” Music Video | Created Entirely on Apple iPhone 4S Posted: 11 May 2012 08:38 PM PDT The one man musical outfit known as Merce Death (aka Shingo Ohno) has an interesting proposition – to make an entire music video utilizing nothing else but his Apple iPhone 4S. Though many Apple faithful have taken to their mobile device as their only camera and camcorder, not that many have done it to this extent. The project stemmed from the 2011 Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami tragedy, after which Ohno’s family relocated from Tokyo to Hakata-ku, Fukuoka, some 500+ miles away. His work at the venerable Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo (W+K Tokyo) kept him from the move, Ohno then started a weekend ritual of 2-hour flight to visit his love ones. Clips of the expansive sky took Ohno more than 50 flights, as well an accumulation of frequent flyer miles, to complete. During any down time on the ground, or in the air, he composed “Still in the Air” with the GarageBand App on the phone. His iMovie for iPhone became his editing software. And finally, the completed version was graded on Movie Looks, also on his iPhone. An unique exploration of iPhone’s limitations, Ohno signed off on his project with thanks to staffs from JAL, ANA, StarFlyer, and SkyMark Airlines. See the finished video after the click.

GAP – Summer 2012 Collection “Be Your Own T” | Campaign Posted: 11 May 2012 08:00 PM PDT For Summer 2012 GAP launches its “Be Your Own T” campaign, showcasing three distinct categories of the brand’s new t-shirt collection: the Now Tees, Essential Tees and G Tees, plus t-shirt inspired styles in the form of dresses, skirts and rompers. The main conceit behind “Be Your Own T” is the notion that the tee is the perfect vehicle for expressing one’s unique qualities, and the Gap has reinvented its t-shirt collection to offer fits and styles for any personality or budget. Social media will also be an engine that drives the campaign, featuring two digital experiences: T-It-Yourself, in partnership with Threadless, provides customers who buy new Gap tees creative ways to upcycle their old t-shirts into repurposed accessories — like flip-flops or beach bags — through Gap’s Facebook page. Styld.by, launched earlier this year in cooperation with fashion blogs, allows users to ask partnering blogs and sites to curate their own looks using key Gap’s new summer tees.

Entree Lifestyle – “Gratitude” MCA Tribute Rooftop Mural | Brooklyn Posted: 11 May 2012 06:30 PM PDT At the news of his sudden passing on May 4th, New Yorkers have found ways to honor the life of Adam “MCA” Yauch, member of the iconic hip-hop troupe Beastie Boys. For the members of Brooklyn upstart Entree Lifestyle, it was a rooftop mural at the borough’s Midwood neighborhood. Hastily put-together because of bad weather, the mural shows gratitude to the late rapper and honors his Buddhist faith with the inscription “Namo Amituofo” (Praises to the Loving Buddha) superimposed onto the setting sun. If you live around the area, you will able to view the mural from the F Subway Line elevated overpass.

Adrian Johnson x Stussy: Guest Artist Series | Video Posted: 11 May 2012 05:00 PM PDT As part of its latest Guest Artist Series project, Stussy presents a video interview with Adrian Johnson. The Liverpool-born artist begins the conversation by stressing the importance of balance between work and personal life. He discusses an epiphany he had a few years back in which he realized he’d been spending too much time on commercial work and creating art from other people’s visions. He felt he had to take a step back, observing “I needed fall in love again with what I do.” The mission was achieved by mining childhood interests — mythology, knights in armor, Ray Harryhausen films — and his later fascination with Mod music, along with the iconography of that era’s record covers. Check out the video below, and see how Adrian’s influences shaped his art current artwork.

Nike Soccer – Manchester United – 2012/2013 Home Kit Posted: 11 May 2012 03:11 PM PDT More than just a city with two mighty Premier League soccer teams, Manchester has its modern roots stemmed from the once thriving textile industry, especially the city’s cotton mills during the Industrial Revolution. So great and prolific was its production that for a period, the city was known as “Cottonoplis”. To honor such industrious spirit, still visible in the various ventures you’ll find in the city today, Nike Soccer appointed the Manchester’s signature, the gingham check, onto the 2012-2013 Home Kit of the Manchester United. Re-enforced with “t-bar” and welded seams for comfort, the new kits, like the others from Nike Soccer, are 23% lighter and 20% more resilience than previous kits. Created from recycled polyester, each kit averages around 13 recycled plastic bottles, for a total of 1115 million bottles recycled since Nike started the program in 2010. Though it is a marvel of modern technology, the new Home Kit features the distinctive Manchester’s gingham check in tonal red. Accentuated by its black v-neck design, each outfitted with hidden message “Forged in Industry, Striving for Glory” as a tribute to Manchester’s hard working mindset. Perfectly ventilated, the kit can be worn as stand alone or with Nike Pro Combat system. The Manchester United Home Kit for 2012-2012 Season is now available for pre-order at the Red Devil’s online store.
