Jordan CP3.V Year of the Dragon | Release Date Posted: 25 May 2012 11:00 PM PDT Following the Air Jordan 2012 YOTD, another Jordan Brand signature shoe is set to release under the Year of the Dragon banner. Receiving the honor this time around is Chris Paul, who could have used the good fortune the dragon is believed to confer during the second round of the NBA playoffs. The celebrated point guard’s CP3.V features a white leather base accented with the same blue and yellow hues from the Air Jordan 2012. Naturally dragon iconography is a strong theme, with the mythical creature appearing on the sockliner, patent leather tongue and underneath the translucent panels on the outsole. Look for the kicks to drop on June 7th. Style: 487428-103 Release Date: June 7th, 2012 (Saturday)

Air Jordan XII Obsidian | Release Info Posted: 25 May 2012 10:00 PM PDT The number of Air Jordan legacy styles to never see a retro release is increasingly dwindling, and on June 23rd Jordan Brand will be able to scratch another pair off the list. We’re referring, of course, to the Air Jordan XII “Obsidian,” which first hit retailers’ shelves back in 1997. While a low-top version dropped in 2004, this is the first time buyers will be able to nab the original silhouette in stores, likely resulting in connoisseurs coming out of the woodwork to complete their collections. Will these eclipse the Playoffs as the XIIs to get in 2012? Style: 130690-410 Release Date: June 23rd, 2012 (Saturday)

Tetris The Movie – Official Trailer | Video Posted: 25 May 2012 08:00 PM PDT If an old-school Hasbro game can be made into a multi-million summer blockbuster (we’re looking at you, Battleship), comedy troupe Warialasky asks: Why not Tetris? Since a full-blown motion picture was out of the question (due to the lack of those aforementioned millions), the team produced the next best thing: a ninety-second trailer. Check out the video below, which features the requisite summer tentpole tropes — wide-angle shots of global landmarks under siege, a young couple beset by tragedy, and a running sequence shot in dramatic slow motion. Also, moments of intense yelling and a pulse pounding soundtrack. Somebody get these guys the number for Michael Bay’s agent.

Air Jordan I AJKO – Summer 2012 Colorways Posted: 25 May 2012 07:30 PM PDT It seems like market saturation with respect to the air Air Jordan 1 has led to buyer fatigue the past few years, resulting in the classic silhouette being relegated to an afterthought while higher profile Air Jordan Legacy releases hogged the spotlight each month. It’s a safe bet that these two upcoming AJKO styles will buck the trend, especially considering 1) they carry OG colorways, and 2) the 2010 version, similarly done up in the historically accurate canvas construction, sold like gangbusters. Now comes the hard part — deciding whether to get the black/red or black toe pair. Think fast, because they drop on June 2nd. Air Jordan IV – Military Blue | Release Date Posted: 25 May 2012 06:00 PM PDT Long before its first reissue in 2006, the Air Jordan IV “Military Blue” was often the subject of heated discussion by Jordan fanatics clamoring for a retro release. However, a strange thing happened when the shoes eventually landed on store shelves. More specifically, it was what didn’t happen that raised eyebrows, as the shoes remained on the shelves. Sure, there were sellouts in some parts of the country, but in others, the kicks were rumored to have made it to the clearance rack. The lesson here is it’s sometimes difficult to gauge how well a particular pair of sneakers will sell, even if they’re the vaunted Jordan IVs. Nonetheless, for those who've been waiting for the Military Blues to resurface — or who’ve worn their 2006 pairs into the ground — we suggest getting to the stores early when they release on June 9th. (Just in case, especially since the sneaker buying landscape has changed quite a bit in the last six years.) For those still on the fence, check out the official images supplied by Jordan Brand below. Style: 308497-105 Release Date: June 9th, 2012 (Saturday)

Posted: 25 May 2012 03:30 PM PDT We’ve got some big news in the mobile photo editing and sharing race with the launch of a new app intending to rival the current heavyweight, Instagram. The more interesting news, of course, is that the new app comes from Facebook, who recently acquired Instagram for a whopping $1 billion and has now opted to release a similar standalone app seemingly aimed to compete against it. The app is called Facebook Camera and it will enable Facebook users to share photos more quickly and easily, allowing users to post and view their friends’ photos all in one convenient place. Unlike Instagram, users of Facebook Camera can only receive streams of their friends’ most recent updates, but many of the same filters and quick-sharing options are there, including multiple-photo uploads, photo tagging and captions, and photo timelining. While it will take a while (if at all) for the Facebook Camera to reach the level of use that Instagram receives, its further proof that competition in this app category only just beginning to get crowded. Currently the app is only for iOS platforms and is free on the iTunes App Store.

Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept – Officially Unveiled Posted: 25 May 2012 02:19 PM PDT French automaker Renault finally unveiled the Alpine A110-50 concept, much to the cheers of car fans around the world. A replica to the storied Alpine A110, at least in appearance, the concept elaborated on Alpine’s signature blue along with its front mounted fog lamps, replicated as oval yellow LED lights on front. But just several layers of paint underneath, this blue streak of a machine is much like the Renault Dezir Concept from a year ago. Built upon the Megane Trophy’s chassis, the Alpine A110-50 Concept is just a fraction of the original Alpine A110′s weight thanks to its extensive usage of carbon fiber. At midship is the Renault V4Y powerplant, a 3.6 liter 24-valve V6 engine rated at 400 horsepower, give and take a few horsepower here and there. Outfitted with a semi-automatic 6-speed gearbox, the same found on F1 race car’s transmission, gears can be control either through clutch pedal or paddle on the steering column. Entry done via scissor doors, Renault took out drive assist advancements such as ABS and traction control to enhance driver’s feel of the road. Going beyond the heritage and the vibrant blue colorway, the car already garnered much attention around the globe. Now the question is will Renault build it? See detailed images, videos, and press release on the project after the jump…
