MENS NON NO x N.HOOLYWOOD   Archive CollectionOver the years Japanese menswear magazine MEN’S NON-NO have covered and supported countless fashion brands in their monthly publication. One of their favorite Japanese brands is N.HOOLYWOOD, and they have collaborated to launch an Archive Collection. Unlike music or art, fashion is a relatively fast-paced business where great pieces from past collection are relatively hard to obtain once they have sold out. Three MEN’S NON-NO editors – who worked on the original article about these garments – were requested to choose their favorite pieces from the past collections. These six items are recreated exclusively for this capsule collection, and are only available through the MEN’S NON-NO online shop and ZOZOMESSE online shop in Japan.

Mercedes Benz   SLS AMG Matt Special Edition | Japan Exclusive

Mercedes-Benz has announced the retiring of the SLS AMG in anticipation of the release of its 2013 SLS AMG GT, but the luxury automaker is giving its current model a last hurrah in Japan with the introduction of the special edition dubbed the “Matt.” The vehicle will come in three versions: a matte black roadster with red accents throughout the exterior (similar to the Performance Studio C63 AMG also exclusive to the Japanese market), plus white matte editions in both coupe and roadster models. The cars all have standard specifications that include the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, leather and Alcantara performance steering wheel and special AMG ten-spoke wheels. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG special editions will be available in Japan starting in September. via: CarScoop

We’ve seen a lot of inventive marketing in support of the Ridley Scott film Prometheus, so it’s little surprise that the advertising for the Alien prequel isn’t limited to a quotidian billboard along a well-traveled roadway. In Paris, the abandoned Saint-Martin Metro station has been transformed into an elaborate display, designed to resemble the cave explored by the crew of the Prometheus. The highlight is a monolithic stone head bathed in eerie blue light, which can be seen through the windows on the Metro’s line 9. Paying tribute to arguably the world’s most famous boxer ahead of his title fight on June 9th, Nike is set to drop the limited edition Free HyperKO Shield Trainer at 21 Mercer tomorrow. The calf-length trainers have a Flywire infused upper and midfoot Velco strap for superior stability, with a Nike Free sole for the kind enhanced flexibility that gives the feel of barefoot training. Manny’s “MP” logo and a graphic depicting the Philippine islands adorn the sides, joined by the eight-rayed sun from the Philippine flag on the tongue. The understated grey and blue color palette is given some flair with glow-in-the-dark panels throughout. Halo Warthog Fighting Vehicle Comes To Life At E3

Officially designated as the M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle, or more commonly known as the “Warthog” by members of the UNSC Marines, the recon/assault all-terrain workhorse is by far the most popular vehicular option on all of Halo gaming titles. Little surprise then that Microsoft made one as the centerpiece to its E3 Halo 4 booth this year. A real-life replica in size and feel, the creators of this four-wheel monstrosity left no details out, even down right to the comm console and the mounted three-barrel M41 Light Anti-Aircraft Gun. Even if its engine wasn’t a 12.0 L liquid-cooled hydrogen-injected ICE and the chain gun a mere prop, the showcase is still equally impressive.

The label’s signature premium quality fleece is once again front and center, used in traditional silhouettes including hoodies, crewnecks, shorts and drawstring pants, as well as cardigans and a hooded outerwear piece. Tees, henleys and knit accessories round out the collection. Ahead of the Euro 2012 championship, Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is profiled in a short film by British photographer and filmmaker Sharif Hamza. Shot in London using long lenses and handheld cameras, the video follows the dynamic action almost from an opposing player’s perspective, as Vermaelen moves in and out of the frame, showcasing his footwork while an unseen crowd cheers him on. The player is outfitted in looks from the fall/winter collections of his fellow Belgians — Ann Demeulemeester, Kris Van Assche, Dries Van Noten and Tim Coppens, Raf Simons and Maison Martin Margiela. WK Interact x TBWA – “FORTY” Film & Art Installation | Video

WK Interact x TBWA   FORTY Film & Art Installation | Video

To help TBWA celebrate its 40th anniversary, the renowned advertising agency enlisted the services of street artist WK Interact, who used an 8ft x 36ft blank canvas to interpret some of the agency’s most notable works over the years. The project, entitled FORTY, has iconography drawn from Absolut vodka’s groundbreaking print campaign, Apple’s 1984 Super Bowl commercial, Nelson Mandela’s first ANC election campaign and Nissan’s SHIFT_ rebranding theme. The finished canvas now lives in TBWA’s New York office, and WK’s process in creating the piece — with help from two assistants — was captured on video, seemingly encapsulating the words of TBWA chairman Lee Clow: “Make it smart. Make it beautiful. Have fun.” The short film, directed by Brandon LaGanke and John Carlucci and featuring a soundtrack by Kishi Bashi, can be seen below.
