Apple iPhone 5 – Realistic Concept Rendered Replica | By Martin Hajek Posted: 14 Jun 2012 12:00 AM PDT Unbelievable! Another Apple engineer “forgot” his iPhone prototype at a bar? Actually not quite. What you see here is actually a physical rendering of what the upcoming Apple iPhone 5 (or iPhone 2012) might look like. After picking apart all the information already leaked about the iPhone 5, including its purported dimensions, Martin Hajek (aka Martin uit Utrecht) put together a truly convincing replica with all the characteristics. He even included the supposed metallic case-back, a new feature reportedly done so by Apple to make the iPhone 5 even thinner. So convincing was Hajek’s handiwork that popular gadget/tech blog Gizmodo posted the story as a “leaked prototype” before changing the headline. Any thoughts on Martin Hajek’s uncanny Apple iPhone 5 facsimile? via: Gizmodo

Leica – Ed Templeton: A Professional Skateboarder Turns Artist | Video Posted: 13 Jun 2012 10:00 PM PDT Leica presents a portrait of the artist in his own words. Ed Templeton of Huntington Beach, California, wears various hats — skateboarder, artist, businessman — and even as a professional skateboarder from 1990 to 1994, he was interested in photography. He pursued it in earnest once he quit skating professionally, carrying his camera wherever he went. Initially his objective was to document the skating subculture, ultimately realizing he needed to widen his scope because almost everything he saw was worth shooting. Templeton describes his generation of photographers as having grown up with a “snapshot aesthetic,” but he realized early on the need for a good camera. He shoots film exclusively and uses a Leica M6. Check out his perspective on life, photography and the creative process in the video below.

POrtal: Terminal Velocity – What If There Was A Real-Life PORTAL Gun? | Video Posted: 13 Jun 2012 09:30 PM PDT Fans of 2011′s popular PORTAL 2 video game by Valve Corporation have no doubt had occasion to wonder, “What would it be like to have a portal gun in real life?” For the uninitiated, the device essentially creates shortcuts through physical space, though Jason Craft‘s short film demonstrates there are inherent dangers for those who attempt to use the portal gun. Entitled “POrtal: Terminal Velocity,” the video depicts a world in which the portal gun actually exists. It went viral just a day after uploading, thanks to the astounding visual effects. Craft explains, “This was the most challenging project I have ever undertaken, consisting of 3D tracking, seamless camera cuts and 3D camera projection.” Shot by Mike Craft and Jason Craft, who also appear as actors along with Adam Rogers, the video is well worth a look, even for those unfamiliar with the game. Check it out below.
