Keith Haring x OBEY – Capsule Collection | Preview Posted: 19 Jun 2012 11:00 PM PDT Shepard Fairey is paying tribute to a pioneering force in street art through an upcoming capsule collection between OBEY and the Keith Haring Foundation. In a preview video Fairey characterizes Haring’s body of work as a visual language that “included characters, slogans, patterns, in a way that was unlike anything anyone else had been doing”. OBEY men’s designer Mike Ternosky recognizes Haring as an originator who used clothes to spread his message, something that the guys at OBEY wanted to continue with this collaborative project, while exposing the artist to a new audience. Check out the preview video — including sneak peaks at the pieces from the collection — below.

NICT Daedalus Cyber-Attack Alert System – 3D Graphic of Illegal Internet Breach in Real-Time | Video Posted: 19 Jun 2012 09:30 PM PDT Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) has developed Daedalus, a cyber-attack alert system that renders attacks on networks in real time. It does so in artful fashion, through a 3D visualization system that looks like it came from the anime film Ghost in the Shell. The large blue sphere in the middle represents the Internet, while the circles orbiting around it are networks under observation. Daedalus monitors how data flows through the network and checks for inconsistencies. If an attack is sensed, an alert goes off, and users can track and visualize the attack through any angle. Check out a video demonstration below. via: DigInfo TV

CordLite – Illuminated Charger Cable for Apple iOS Devices | By Scrap Pile Labs Posted: 19 Jun 2012 08:30 PM PDT Every night when you’re heading to bed — already feeling a bit groggy and uncoordinated — the last thing you want to do is take a few stabs in the dark in an attempt to plug in your Apple iPhone, iPad or other iOS devices. It’s not that easy of a task. Now, thanks to CordLite, things are about to get a lot simpler because this isn’t your standard 30-pin third-party cable and as soon as you pick one up you’ll notice why: the dock connector has two front-facing LEDs that are activated by touching any part of its surface giving you the right amount of light to get the job done the first time, every time. If the group behind the project, Scrap Pile Labs, reaches their goal on KICKSTARTER in the next seven days then these things will hit retail stores by the end of the year. Check it out in more detail after the jump and head to KICKSTARTER to throw in your hat. via Engadget

The Dark Knight Rises x Chrysler – “Imported from Gotham City” Commercial | Video Posted: 19 Jun 2012 07:00 PM PDT Ahead of the July 20th release of The Dark Knight Rises, the Chrysler 300 gets a makeover fit for a caped crusader as part of an advertising campaign that sees Chrysler partnering with Warner Bros. Entitled “Imported from Gotham City,” the Stacy Wall-directed television commercial was designed and shot to look like a set piece from Gotham, featuring a team of elite mechanics transforming a Chrysler 300 into a special “Dark Knight Rises” edition. A quick pan showing off the aggressive matte black exterior — along with a shot of the “DK-300S” Gotham City license plate — ends with the vehicle roaring off into the night. The extended 60-second spot can be viewed below. (It has its network TV premier tonight on NBC.)
