| ALIFE x Pepsi MAX x Kyrie Irving – Conversation with Treis Hill & Jesse Villanueva | Video Posted: 26 Jun 2012 02:00 AM PDT All of the sudden, New York City’s Lower East Side is now a Mecca for the game of basketball, albeit temporarily. In addition to the just opened Nike Rivington Court, its neighbors at ALIFE are in the midst of completing their most recent project with pro basketball player Kyrie Irving. A collaboration between the NBA Rookie of the Year, beverage/food giant Pepsi, along with Treis Hill and Jesse Villanueva of ALIFE, the three entities are set in celebrating Irving’s achievements during his Rookie Year. In this brief behind-the-scene glimpse, Irving talked with Hill and Villanueva about the project though the conversation went to several tangents instead…

| Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboarding Boots – Inspired by Air Jordan III Retro Black Cement Posted: 26 Jun 2012 12:30 AM PDT The appearance of snowboarding boots at the start of summer might be odd at first, though this particular pair is quite warranted for the occasion. Now in full Swoosh sponsored outfit from top to bottom, Austrian professional rider Gigi Rüf recently appeared with some of the upcoming offerings from Nike Snowboarding, including a pair of Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboarding Boots in new colorway. While Rüf been a wearer of Nike Zoom Kaiju since four years ago, these new design are quite distinctive – their close resemblances to the Air Jordan III Retro Black Cement, down to the elephant skin/cement pattern. No technical details are available at this time except for original features that include Flywire Cuff, Free Technology, No-Sew Asymmetric Weld, Zoom Air cushioning, and of course, the unique design.

Handcrafted in the U.S.A. and carrying a classic teardrop silhouette, the carryall is dressed in signature Libero Ferrero leather, developed in partnership with the legendary Horween tannery. Features include an extra-wide mouth for easy accessibility to a large main compartment, which is lined with an antimicrobial and waterproof lining. An internal zipper pocket is padded with signature wool to protect an iPad, laptop computer or other small items. Solid brass hardware and a detachable shoulder strap round out the details. The Libero Ferrero Balfour, in hickory or black colorways, is available now at retailers and online.

| Ken Block x Ford Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle – Gymkhana Five | Teaser Video 1 Posted: 25 Jun 2012 09:00 PM PDT DC Shoes presents a teaser for Gymkhana 5, in which Ken Block and his Ford Fiesta H.F.V.F. rally car find a new surface on which to perform cinema-worthy hooning: a barge in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. Set to the soaring synths of Europe’s “Final Countdown,” the clip clocks in at thirty-seven seconds and acts as the appetizer for the main course, which is set to debut July 9th. So until then, check out the video below, and enjoy the sweeping helicopter cinematography that includes shots of the San Francisco skyline and Bay Bridge traffic, as well as the plumes of smoke drifting from the nearby barge.

| CONCEPTS x New Balance – “Fourth of July” Pack Launch + Back Yard Barbecue Posted: 25 Jun 2012 08:00 PM PDT Concepts is celebrating the launch of the New Balance “Fourth of July” pack with that all-American repast, the backyard barbecue. The all-ages event is scheduled for Saturday June 30th, from 2 to 5 p.m. Exclusive to Concepts and San Francisco’s Unionmade, the kicks themselves take the form of three colorways of the classic 574 model, dressed in in traditional mesh and suede makeups in patriotic hues: Grey/Red-Navy featuring a tonal light grey upper with red suede “N”; Navy/Red-White with a red mesh base and navy suede overlays plus red suede “N”; and a Red/Navy-White pair featuring color blocking that’s the converse of the previous style. | Fiat 550 Italia – Ferrari 458 Powered Concept | By LAZZARINI DESIGN Posted: 25 Jun 2012 06:30 PM PDT Lazzarini Design introduces a concept that installs supercar power in a tidy Fiat 500 package. Dubbed the 550 Italia, the vehicle has a rear-mounted 4.5-liter V8 taken from a Ferrari 458 Italia. The engine is detuned from 570 horsepower to a relatively more manageable 550 horses, and the wheelbase is extended by about a foot to accommodate the engine and transmission. Additional modifications include a widebody kit, new bumpers, roof-mounted functional air intake and a large rear wing. Lazzarini Design is currently asking for $550,000 from investors to bring the Fiat 550 Italia to market.

| Nike Sportswear Ice Cream Truck – Digital Camouflage Edition Posted: 25 Jun 2012 06:02 PM PDT The arrival of summer to New York City only means one thing – the return of Nike Sportswear Ice Cream Truck. Not much alterations since its introduction last summer and subsequent sabbatical over the winter, the truck does have one addition – a brand new digital camouflage wrap in the exact likeness as the just launched Nike Air Force 1 Premium '08 High-Frequency Digital Camouflage. Of course the change in appearance is for a reason, the mobile retail platform will be selling the much sought after AF1 30th Anniversary Edition. Plus, the newly revamped Ice Cream Truck will be only storefront to get Nike Sportswear “New York” graphic tee in digital camo print and a leather heart brooch made by participants to Nike‘s summer youth project in NYC. While it will stay within the newly opened Nike Rivington Court in LES for the time being, you can check on the truck’s location updates by simply following @NikeNYC Twitter feed.

| Dredd – 2012 Remake – Official Trailer 1 | Video Posted: 25 Jun 2012 05:30 PM PDT Lionsgate has released the official trailer for Dredd, a second attempt at a movie adaptation of the popular British comic book series. (The original, 1995′s Judge Dredd, starred Sylvester Stallone as the title character. The less said about the film the better.) The upcoming 3D reboot has Karl Urban taking on the role of the futuristic lawman, whose charter is to protect Mega-City One, a dystopian urban wasteland caught in the grip of a rampant drug epidemic. Along with a rookie with psychic abilities (Olivia Thirlby), Dredd must take on a 200-story vertical slum controlled by a prostitute turned drug lord called Ma-Ma (Lena Headley), who’s declared war on the Judges. Directed by Peter Travers, Dredd is scheduled to open in theaters September 21st.
