| LEGO – Building Virtually in Google Chrome Posted: 27 Jun 2012 11:00 PM PDT Google has partnered with LEGO to launch a simulator that allows you to build virtual LEGO structures in Chrome. The application, simply titled Build, is the product of a collaborative effort between Google Australia and LEGO. It presents a play set based on a Google map of Australia and New Zealand, using 3D graphics powered by WebGL, in which builders selects a plot of land and a choice of basic brick styles from twelve different options. Future plans have Build launching in other parts of the world, but for now amateur architects can sharpen their brick building skills in the land down under.

| Parrot Zik Bluetooth Wireless Headphones | Designed by Philippe Starck Posted: 27 Jun 2012 10:00 PM PDT For audiophiles, Bluetooth headphones have always been suspect, but the Parrot Zik headphones address the issues that typically plague wireless headsets. There’s the design pedigree, with Philippe Starck creating an elegant and sleek aesthetic with comfortable earcups that completely enclose the ear. Instead of using buttons, a simple finger swipe up the back of the right earcup turns up the volume, while a swipe forward advances the track list. Taking off the headset pauses the music. In terms of connectivity, just tapping your NFC-equipped phone to one of the earcups completes the pairing. Active noise cancellation contributes to superior sound, while bone-conduction technology cancels noise when you have to take a call. Check out a pair of introductory videos below. | Nike SB x Levi’s 511 Skateboarding Denim Collection Posted: 27 Jun 2012 07:10 PM PDT Worlds collide next month when the joint venture between heavyweights Nike SB and Levi’s lands at select global retailers. A key component of the project takes the form of the slim-fitting Levi’s 511 jeans, built specifically for skaters and integrated with Nike’s Dri-FIT vectran technologies. The popular silhouette will come in two versions and multiple washes, accompanied by a denim Trucker Jacket and two models of co-branded Nike SB sneakers. One is the Omar Salazar LR, created with help from Omar himself and dressed in a tonal suede upper with Levi’s branding at the heel. The other is a Dunk Low Pro SB, similarly built with a tonal black upper with hits of red at the heel tabs — one featuring the Nike logo, the other with Levi’s trademark — and outsole. | New Balance 996 Denim Blues & 574 Light Blues Posted: 27 Jun 2012 06:30 PM PDT New Balance is embarking on its own self-styled blue period, though the two shades on offer here are decidedly more summery than somber. The individual colorways take the form of an attractive denim blue on the American-made 996 silhouette, as well as a light blue finish on the ever dependable 574. Both pairs sport a mesh and suede build, dressed with light grey accents throughout the upper, including the side logo and laces. Similarly, ENCAP cushioning provides a comfortable ride for both. The classic runners are in stock now at Kith stores and online. KITH NYC KITH BK

| Google Project Glass | Detailed Look Posted: 27 Jun 2012 05:30 PM PDT Following our high-flying look at Google’s Project Glass, we present a more in-depth examination of the highly anticipated and very high-tech Google product, thanks to the company’s presentation today at the Google I/O developers conference. First, some basics: the glasses have the kind of components you’d find on a typical smartphone, with a CPU and plenty of RAM, as well as a speaker, camera and mic. There’s a touchpad off to the side, situated on a right-hand sidebar, though Glass will also respond to voice commands. The wearer will see a small transparent display located just above his or her sight line. Additional details: engineers are said to be experimenting with connectivity options, with the likely scenario involving a wireless tether to one’s smartphone to retrieve data from the Web. A built-in accelerometer and gyroscope will allow the device to respond to motions like head shaking or nodding. And while recording locally is an option, Glass will be used mostly to stream live video. Finally, power comes via an internal battery that sits behind the ear on the wearer’s right side. Ultimately, Glass is a major step forward in Google’s attempt to make the distributing and receiving of information both quickly and universally accessible. During his presentation today at IO, Google co-founder Sergey Brin announced that Glass would make users “less a slave to your device.” And since it’s meant to be worn in public, the glasses will likely come in multiple colorways. (Sergey wore pairs that came in light blue, white and black while on stage.) | Miami Heat x HUBLOT – White Hot Big Bang Chronograph Watch | NBA Champions Edition Posted: 27 Jun 2012 05:09 PM PDT Flustered by their own performances at times and still haunted by last year’s botched run for the championship, the Miami Heat came through in the end and became the 2012 NBA Champions. To honor the efforts by the players, the coaching staff, team’s front office, and American Arena officials, HUBLOT, the Miami Heat’s official watch and timekeeper, hosted a special celebratory event Monday night. During the festivities, Heat’s Dwyane Wade, a HUBLOT brand ambassador, presented fellow teammates and Miami Heat executives, including coach Erik Spolestra, Team President Pat Riley, Team Owner Mickey Arison, with an exclusive White Hot Big Bang Chronograph timepiece collection. Courtesy of Wade and HUBLOT in a display of gratitude, the tonal white watch features a special team logo on its crystal glass caseback as the mark of champions.
