Compared to its predecessor, the shoe has a slimmed down silhouette and a streamlined look, highlighted by a durable one-piece vamp. The suede upper, dressed with a Geofit collar for enhanced comfort, rests on a vulcanized sole unit with adiPRENE heel cushioning. A molded sockliner provides added stability. Nylon 3-stripes and pull tabs, plus hiking laces and recessed eyelets, finish the look. This debut black colorway of the adidas Skateboarding Silas II pro is in stock now at Concepts. | colette x Space Invaders x Romain Jerome Watch Posted: 29 Jun 2012 07:00 PM PDT Manuel Emch, CEO of RJ-Romain Jerome, confesses to being an arcade game addict back in the early ’80s, and his drug of choice was Space Invaders. The Swiss luxury watch company pays tribute to the attacking alien horde for the second year in a row, this time creating a black-hued timepiece with the 8-bit figures arrayed across the dial in colette‘s signature blue. Keeping up with the extraterrestrial theme, four functional ball-and-socket joints on the corners of the case are reminiscent of the legs on an American lunar landing module. The limited-edition watch is available in four additional colors — red, green, purple and yellow — with just eight pieces made for each. | Patta x KangaROOS – PxK Voyage Posted: 29 Jun 2012 06:00 PM PDT Following the success of their Tennis Oxford, Amsterdam-base retailer Patta and footwear label KangaROOS are readying themselves with another collaboration. The third iteration of their ongoing partnership will see the re-launch of another classic silhouette from KangaROOS’ archive, the PxK Voyage. In abstract interpretation of the floral/leaf pattern by artist Vincent van de Waal, the lightweight printed canvas and white cup sole are the perfect complements to the warm summer days. Finished with tonal piping, label with both brands, and KangaROOS’ iconic feature, the hidden stash pocket, Patta x KangaROOS PxK Voyage will be available in either a red or blue color schemes. Both are set to launch this coming Wednesday, July 4th, at Berlin’s FIRMAMENT boutique to coincide with the start of Berlin Fashion Week. A separate launch at Patta will follow on July 6th. | Case of Bass – Boombox Made of Recycled Vintage Suitcase Posted: 29 Jun 2012 05:00 PM PDT Brothers Ezra and Alex Cimino-Hurt have built a business around the adage “One man's trash is another man’s treasure.” Their Portland-based company, Case of Base, repurposes old and discarded luggage to create portable sound systems with classic audio components, powered by lightweight Li-on battery packs. The pieces are categorized into four distinct classes — Courier, Debonair, Diplomat and Swarthy — depending on the case size and speaker capacity. They can also be built to customers’ specifications, including input types, amplifier size, power supply and batteries. | Ferrari P4/5 Competizione by Pininfarina – Backstage Video | By Piotr Degler Jablonski Posted: 29 Jun 2012 04:00 PM PDT The Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is a special one-off built by Ferrari and designed by Pininfarina, made for ex-film director and financier James Glickenhaus. Based on a 430 Scuderia, the vehicle has a shell constructed entirely from carbon fiber and built to FIA GT2 standards. (Prior to this particular model, Glickenhaus had a Ferrari P4/5 built that was based on the Enzo supercar.) In May the Competizione set a new record during the 24 Hours of Nurburgring qualifying by setting the fastest lap ever in a Ferrari-powered vehicle, with a time of 6:51. The beauty can be seen in the video below, during a photo session with automotive photographer Piotr Degler Jablonski. It’s accompanied by a gallery of images taken during the vehicle’s build. With its white casing and rainbow accent line, the new camera bears a striking resemblance to the 1977 classic, Polaroid Land Camera 1000. Quipped with a 10-megapixel sensor and a 3.0 bright color LCD display, users will have several options in viewing their photos, including developing it with the integrated ZINK Technology printer. Thanks to its straightforward user interface, anyone can capture, edit, and print an image in less a minute time. Of course, you can store the images onto an SD media as well.
