| Posted: 11 Jul 2012 10:00 PM PDT Android Homme continues to look to the future while keeping its footwear styles grounded in street-style sensibilities. That singular aesthetic is apparent in the brand’s new Grid model, presented for the season in two different makeups: one featuring a waxed canvas upper with lambskin leather details, the other built with a lambskin leather upper with suede details. The former comes in Coral Pink/Black and Cayenne Blue/Black colorways, while the latter is finished in subdued Liquid Black and Liquid Grey hues. All four rest atop contrast white midsoles and comfortable crepe outsoles. The kicks are in stock now at Android Homme’s online store.

| John Wall’s Breakout – The Animated Story Posted: 11 Jul 2012 09:30 PM PDT Washington Wizards point guard John Wall may have been drafted first overall in the 2010 NBA Draft, but in 2007 he was a sorely disappointed kid who had been cut by his high school varsity basketball team. His story — how he went from an unknown to the no. 1 recruit in the country in the span of one summer — is told through an animated short by Reebok and artist James Blagden. The visually unique film chronicles Wall’s triumph at the 2007 Reebok Breakout Underclassman Camp, leading to what amounted to the player’s coming out party at RBKU in Philadelphia. Told through first person accounts, it’s an engrossing tale of hard work and dedication leading to breakout success. Check out “John Wall’s Breakout – The Animated Story” below.

| RoboCop – 2013 Remake | OmniCorp Teaser Website Posted: 11 Jul 2012 08:09 PM PDT It seems like Sony Pictures is hell-bend on remaking all of the most recent sci-fi classics. Besides the current box office kind, The Amazing Spider-Man, and the upcoming Total Recall sans Arnold Schwarzenegger, the movie studio is readying production on RoboCop. A sci-fi action & thriller, director Paul Verhoeven immersed the 1987 film, as he did with the original Total Recall, with overwhelming gore and violence to serve as a satirical commentary on a very possible dystopia future. Though its too early to tell if the new director, José Padilha, the creator of the popular Brazilian police drama Elite Squad, would follow suit, the intrigue surrounding this reboot already has many top actors signed up, including Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Hugh Laurie of Dr. House fame. Additionally, Sony Pictures and its Columbia Pictures subsidiary created a fictional website for OmniCorp, the megacorporation that governed new Detroit if not the world, to enhance film’s immersive plot line. The new RoboCop should in theaters late 2013.

| Liberty x Nike Sportswear – Lotus Jazz Running Collection Posted: 11 Jul 2012 07:00 PM PDT Liberty and Nike Sportswear have partnered once again, this time on a footwear collection that celebrates the culture of running. The models are made up of the Air Max 1, LunarGlide+, Free Run+ and Lunar Montreal, all finished in a bold Liberty print that substitutes the brand’s typical floral designs for the graphic Lotus Jazz Liberty print, originally created in 1965. Its contemporary aesthetic reflects the digital benefits of Nike+ technology, while the lines resemble the curves of a running track. Each shoe features a monochromatic colorway with contrasting hits of neon Volt for added pops of color. The kicks will drop July 16th at the Liberty London store and online, with a global release through select Nike retailers following on August 1st. | Nike Air Force 1 – Jeremy Lin | Available Posted: 11 Jul 2012 05:00 PM PDT The latest reports out of New York have Jeremy Lin unhappy with the Knicks for keeping him waiting for a new contract, while the Houston Rockets came calling with a four-year deal reportedly worth $28.8 million. It’s an offer for which Lin has verbally agreed to sign, but New York has the right to match Houston’s offer sheet, and it’s widely expected that the undrafted Harvard grad will return to the Knicks. The upshot: this Jeremy Lin-edition of the Nike Air Force 1, featuring colors and design notes inspired by the New York Knicks, won’t be woefully out of date before the 2012 – 2013 NBA season begins. The shoe features a chambray blue inlay and tonal nubuck overlay, plus hits of orange throughout. NYC-inspired LIN tongue tags, plus “JL” on the insole and heel finish the look. | Metalica x VANS “Kill ‘Em All” Pack Posted: 11 Jul 2012 03:30 PM PDT Next year marks the 30th anniversary of Metallica‘s hard-charging debut album, Kill ‘Em All, which offered aural salvation to heavy metal fans looking for an alternative to the sugary hair metal that was already beginning to take hold of the musical landscape. Vans is celebrating the landmark album with a two-pack of kicks — made up of the classic Slip-On and Sk8-Hi — each featuring canvas panels adorned with artwork from the Kill ‘Em All album cover.
